Position: Procurement HOD

Vacancy: Vacancy for a Procurement HOD with technical buying experience, minimum 4-5 years within a manufacturing/ fabrication/ mining/ production environment.
Location : Kingsburg Durban
Salary: To be discussed

Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement

• Management of requisitions, request for quotes and purchase orders (including expediting).
• Responsible for ensuring orders are placed timeously.
• Maintaining and following up on pending/ queried orders.
• Track deliveries and ensure orders delivered/ collected correctly.
• Check deliveries against original purchase order for any discrepancies (quantity, price, availability).
• Maintain expediting report
• SLA Maintenance with Suppliers.
• Intercompany processing.
• Familiar with API spec Q1, 9th edition
• Familiar with ISO 9001:2015
• Maintain control of records
• Verification of purchased products, components and activities
• Control of non-confirming products
• Supply chain control plan
• Ensure supplier registration forms are completed with relevant supporting documents
• Supplier evaluation is done timeously
• Maintain supplier risk rating and quality rating chart
• Maintain list of approved suppliers

Supplier Management
• Create, update and maintain supplier master data.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of all records in procurement and inventory modules on ERP
• Build professional relationships with key suppliers

BBBEE: Preferential Procurement
• Maintain accurate auditable records of procurement processes, resulting in high process compliance.
• Create, update and maintain BBBEE supplier data and present reports and/or data as required in BBBEE reporting.
• Maintain database of latest valid BBBEE certificates of suppliers.
• Identify and negotiate with key BBBEE suppliers.
• Manage supply chain to maximise BBBEE preferential Procurement and Enterprise Development.

Monthly Reporting
• Develop, prepare and maintain required management reports, spend analysis and reporting value improvements.
• Various reporting as required by Finance to assist with Month End
• BBBEE Reporting.

Other
• Managing the daily execution of varied tasks in the procurement department ensuring a well administered, efficient and effective organisation.
• Assisting the Production Team with the resolution of supplier problems (quality, supply etc.).
• Training, guiding, directing and supporting of internal customers on the procurement processes and standards
• Keep up to date with latest procurement trends and practices and adopt Best Practices.
• Identify and generate alternative opportunities for procurement improvements.
• Preparation for annual audits.
• Year-end activities.

Tertiary qualification (Degree) Procurement and Supply Chain Management covering accounting, inventory management, negotiation basics.

-The individual must have experience in selling a general range of valves to Project houses, consulting engineers and bringing in new business. The position is target based. Salary will be based on experience.

-Strong product knowledge with regards to valves in the petrochemical industry.
-Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information.

-Must ensure sales targets are achieved as specified by branch/regional sales manager.

-Must be able to read and understand technical drawings in order to analyses technical problems.

-Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
